How can a podcast producer save your small business time and money?

Podcast Producers

For the past year, I have been working with KeyStone Financial Resources on their podcast. Keystone is a financial services company located in Brentwood, Tennessee.

Create a podcast with a purpose

Keystone decided to create a podcast 1) to help educate women about retirement planning and retirement-adjacent services and 2) to create a community of professionals that could serve as a referral network to each other.

Share your expertise through a podcast

The Keystone owners are at the top of their game. They know the financial industry inside and out, and they know exactly how to communicate that information to their audience. They just needed help with the technical side of the podcast, so they hired me to record, edit, and post their biweekly podcast episodes.

Hire a podcast producer and free up time

The technical side of podcasting is often where small business owners lose their steam. They have a message they want to communicate, but they get bogged down in the editing and the huge time commitment it takes to go from audio recording to the final cut of the episode. This is where a podcast producer can help.

Podcast producers help
prep the episode and bring the episode to fruition. They help develop episode ideas, set up guest appearances, schedule the recording date, and coordinate the editing and launch of the episode. Podcast producers allow the talent to be able to focus on the actual content of the episode without having to worry about all of the details.

While working with Keystone, I’ve had to opportunity to work on all aspects of their show. I provide the on-site recording. I bring my equipment directly to their office and have it set up for the recording. I run audio during the recording so that the host and guest sound their best. Once the episode is recorded, I break down my equipment and head to my office for editing. I keep a log of any recording issues and cuts while recording, as well as any highlights, so I’m able to quickly reference those when editing the audio. I finalize all of the audio and schedule it in the podcast hosting platform. I use
Libsyn, which is a great platform.

Podcast work doesn’t end after recording and editing

Once the show is ready, I write up the show notes and other relevant items to share with the Keystone social media team. I also create a digital podcast episode kit that Keystone shares with the guest. The kit includes links to the show, cover art, and some social media post ideas that the guest can use to promote their episode.

My goal as a podcast producer is to make things run as smoothly as possible behind the scenes so that the host and their guest can simply sit down and have a conversation. I complete all of the other tasks behind the scenes.

Time is your most important commodity

Time is a commodity that small business owners cherish, and creating a podcast takes time. As entrepreneurs, we take the DIY path as long as we can until we run out of time. I combine my experiences as a marketer and podcaster, and I manage podcasts for a more seamless experience.

If you are looking to start a podcast for your business but are stuck by a lack of time or technical knowledge, I can help. I’ll come to your office and do the on-site recording. I’ll edit and publish your podcast episodes. I’ll even write up the show notes and post them to your website if that will help make your life easier.

I’d love to hear more about your podcasting ideas, and I’d love to work with you to make them become reality.
